3.1- Communication Technologies in Reality

The gap between fiction and reality:

How advance can our technology evolve? I personally think that something like J.A.R.V.I.S. system and customized interface experience according to user preferences that McFetridge envisions is quite possible to happen in future. This is because where we are at right now looks pretty promising. An interaction designer has come out with a prototype called SpaceTop- a desktop redefined as a portal that can be reached into to manipulate objects.

SpaceTop that fuses 2D and spatial 3D interactions in a single desktop workspace.

If this invention is perfected to suit real life application, I believe it will benefit fields such as architecture and biomedical engineering where 3D modelling is needed to construct an item.

However, I do not think that technology will be able to replace human being in terms of giving emotional support.

Technology like Paro might be able to give comfort to people to certain extent, it is still far from the experience of having real human interaction.
